Field Machinery & Equipment

RTS has designed and built most or our field service machine tooling. Many or our designs have been developed from our journeymen machinist and have proven to be extremely rigid, accurate and efficient.

RTS is able to offer our customers successful and cost effective onsite machining solutions.

We offer:

Boring bars of all sizes. Stud removal equipment.
Portable onsite stud removal.

Turning devices:

Our 30 and 100 ton turning devices are designed to operate with extreme precision! With built in anti thrusting collars and superior self aligning hydrostatic bearing design, RTS is able to deliver proven onsite lathe work on rotors that makes RTS a leader in these processes.

Additional RTS Field Services equipment including:

  • 22 – Complete portable welding stations for onsite repairs that include all support equipment necessary for virtually any size diaphragm project.
  • 3 - Portable VTL's with up to 108 inch swing:  root radials, spill strips, hook fits etc.
  • A Portable Horizontal Mill: - Diaphragm joints, dowels, bolt holes, center slots.
  • Several 6 inch x 6’and 12’ Boring bars:  seals, fits, erosion repair etc.
  • Several 4 inch x 6’ and 16’ Boring bars: seals, fits, erosion repair etc.
  • 3-inch x 4’ Boring Bar: Nozzle Snouts, Valve Seats etc.
  • 2 - 1.750” x multiple length Climax boring bars.
  • A Stud buster:  Drill and remove up to 8-inch studs
  • 2 – Portable knee mills:  Drill and remove up to 6-inch studs, bore plugs etc.
  • Portable 25 ton soft bearing low speed balance machine.
  • Support equipment necessary for bucket/blade removal and installation, including numerous 50 ton punch presses, shroud cover rolling machines, small portable mills for machining custom fit bucket/blade roots, extensive supply of Enerpac hydraulic and Hilti equipment, etc.
  • A Portable 20’ enclosed machine shop equipped with a large supply of consumables and turbine outage support equipment including: a Bridgeport style vertical mill, engine lathe, surface grinder, small saw etc.
