RTS Inc. is a full service turbine repair company with our main facility just outside of St. Louis Mo. We are capable of providing a very comprehensive list of repairs and replacement parts for Large steam turbines. Our top 7 managers have over 200 years of experience with virtually every type of turbine in the utility industry.
RTS Inc. has been instrumental in implementing many of the repair procedures and replacement parts that have been proven to shorten repair schedules and enable nozzle, diaphragm and rotating components to perform reliably and efficiently over today’s longer operating cycles.
We have a brand new high rotor bay and machine shop, with 100,000 lbs of lifting capability. A huge selection of field equipment to handle numerous projects simultaneously. We are able to provide you with skilled, safety and fitness certified technicians that are among the best in the industry.

05/09 Westinghouse BB41-BB71
Project Included the following:
- Removed and replaced and machined to spec. a complete row of L-1 blading.
- Performed a complete Major repair of the Nozzle in the casing utilizing Inco 82.
- Performed major repairs on the 1st stage reheat blade ring utilizing Inco 82.
04/09 General Electric 7A6
Project Included the following:
- Full incoming inspection at our facility on the HP/IP rotor that included sandblast N.D.E and T.I.Rs.
- Removal, installation and machining of New Buckets for Rows 1, 2 and 3, supplied by our PCT manufacturing facility.
- Installation was performed in our facility. Machining was performed using our 100 ton turning device.
- A large amount of F.O.D. was found on the first 6 rows of buckets. Stage 4 thru 6 were straightened, edges trimmed back and high spots removed.
- A slow speed balance was performed.
- The first stage diaphragm was Major Repaired utilizing Inconel 82 in our facility.
02/09 GE G3 750 MW Supercritical
Project Included the following:
- Performed a detailed inspection of the entire HP, IP and LP diaphragms in the main turbine, and the entire steampath of both the A and B boiler feedpump diaphragms.
- Performed Major repairs to several stages in the HP section and IP sections of the turbine utilizing Inco 82 filler metal onsite.
- Performed a large amount of miscellaneous minor repairs wherever necessary on the entire steampath components as directed by customer.
- Installed and machined radial seals on the Nozzle and axial and radial seals on the 1st stage reheat Double flow diaphragm as well as steam seal face inserts using our portable VTL.
- Restored diaphragm horizontal joint faces on a number of stages that were found to be eroded by welding and machining on-site with our portable Horizontal boring mill.
- Assisted with turbine alignment by welding and machining center slots as needed using our portable horizontal boring mill.
- Removed 1 screen and replaced with the 3 screens required for start up on several of the CRV and MSVs..
- 8th Stage Generator diaphragm was sent to the RTS facility to have the chromium carbide coating removed and a complete Major repair was performed on the steampath utilizing 410ss with a post weld stress relief.
- 1st Reheat Buckets are currently being manufactured by our PCT facility.
01/09 GE Lynn 204 MW
Project Included the following:
- Removal, installation and machining of new buckets for Rows 2, 9 and 10, manufactured at our PCT Facility.
- Bucket Installation was performed on-site. Machining was performed using our 30 ton portable turning device.
- Slow speed balance was performed onsite as well.
- Performed a detailed inspection of the entire HP, IP and LP diaphragms.
- Performed Major repairs on 4 stages of diaphragms including the 8th, 14th, 15th, and 17th stages on-site utilizing Inco 82 filler metal.
- Removed and replaced customer supplied spill strips on the majority of diaphragms in the unit. Spill Strips were ordered with additional stock.
- The additional stock allowed for setup and machining to close tolerance in our portable VTL onsite.
11/08 Westinghouse BB22
Project Included the following:
Steam Chest Repair
- Setup and map 6 governor valves and 2 throttle valves seats.
- Machined prepped all 8 of the seat areas.
- Weld restored the 8 seat areas including heat control thru the process and post weld stress relief.
- Finish machined to specification.
- Machine removed numerous damaged valve studs.
12/07 Westinghouse Unit 1 BB22
Project Included the following:
- Removal and installation of New stationary blades for C1,C2 and C3 blading in the HP section of the turbine, manufactured by our PCT manufacturing facility.
- Removal, installation and machining of all the j seal strips in the No.1 and No. 2 inner casing.
- Removal, installation and machining of every row of the dummy seals.
- Welding and machining of snout pipes.
- Selective major cutback and blade repair of the LP blade rings, TE and GE end utilizing Inco 82 filler metal.
- Numerous Minor repairs to HP and IP blade rings.
